In the beginning the music world was rockless and void, except for Chuck Berry, and the Lord saw that he was very good so in his image He made Elvis, and girl-groups, and composed some epic instrumentals. And it was all good. And the evening and the morning was the 50s.
Then the Lord created the summer for fun, fun, fun, and the Beachboys for the beaches, and He added three more seasons and Frankie Valli, and called them The Four Seasons. But after JFK was assassinated, the people didn’t feel much like singing anymore, so God sent the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and everybody screamed, and all the adults were afraid, because they thought God was angry at them. But He wasn’t. But all the girls continued to scream anyway. And the evening and the morning was the 60s.
Then the Lord said, let there be lights, and colors, psychedelic art, and bell-bottoms and tie-dyed shirts, and let the music reflect all those colors and reverberate, and he made communes full of hippies, and every good plant for smoking, and head-shops to sell paraphernalia. And it was far-out, man. And the evening and morning was the 70s.
Then God led forth his people into the desert, and they have wandered aimlessly ever since, except for an occasional Elton John song and the Colors of the Wind, and the Little Mermaid and stuff.
